A truly red banana! The leaves are red with a hint of bronze and chartreuse green flecks and blotches. The young plant is bright green and starts to develop the red colors at the size of about 12" tall. More sunlight will bring out brighter, stronger red color and stronger contrast with the occasional green variegation. 'Siam Ruby' adds dramatic color to a mixed combo, or looks stunning all alone.

The cold hardiness data is not reliable yet. It should be treated as a tender plant that doesn't tolerate frost. At the same time, if frost causes severe damage to the plant, it should be able to come back from the underground corm once the temperature allows it - like other tender banana types.
