| The Louisiana irises are very hardy and can be grown successfully in over 80% of the United States. This Iris is native to the Southeastern Atlantic and Gulf Coast. The Louisiana irises are very similar to most other irises. This iris will have six to eight blooms, and rarely makes more than ten. Culture, weather and other factors all play a major role in the number of blooms produced. The entire stalk blooms for five to nine days. The blooms on the Louisiana Iris have six floral segments in two sets, the standards and the falls. It thrives in hot summers, however they have been breed to adapt to more northern states. |
